4 was originally written for piano and is the only work on this recording which has been transcribed. The nine Bachianas Brasileiras for various instruments by Heitor Villa-Lobos were inspired by the music of J.S. The arrangement on this CD is for guitar duo only and is entitled Lorca Fantasy.
The concerto is based on musical themes especially suited to the guitar collected by the Spanish poet Federico Garcia Lorca, and is dedicated to Manual de Falla.
